Introduction
The Cooney Carey Group combines a firm of Chartered
Accountants with a Taxation and Business Advisory service.
We are a leading provider of business management, financial
consultancy and accountancy services to private clients,
companies and partnerships. Since our foundation in
1983, we have recognised the importance of meeting the
advisory needs of the private client, together with
his or her business interests.
Cooney Carey is a well-established business with significant
client relationships. We are continuing to invest in
our future and we will ensure that our firm is and will
continue to be one of the best respected in our sector.
The Issues
Cooney Carey has been operating Keysoft Accounting
Software for the last 20 years. At the time of making
an initial investment in computerisation, Keysoft was
the best accounting solution available locally, meeting
all of our requirements with the exception of Time Recording.
Working closely with Keysoft, we assisted them in developing
a simple, but basic, fully integrated time recording
system with some reporting functionality to meet our
needs.
Having spent close to € 100,000 over the years
on the Keysoft solution, in recent years it was quite
clear that Keysoft were not interested in investing
in this product on an ongoing basis - only if you requested,
and were prepared to pay for, tailoring work. We felt
we had no choice but to look for a replacement system.
However, given the investment to-date, we were going
to be extremely careful in changing - we would only
change if we discovered a product that had all that
Keysoft had and much more.
Identifying A Replacement
We spent close on 2 years reviewing systems - mainly
examining what our 200+ clients were using. We knew
early on in the review process that Coretime's Tempus
Pro Online solution was the product for us. And with
a seamless integration with Access Accounts Horizons
package we made the decision to go with Coretime.
Tempus Pro Online offers everything one could ask for
in terms of Time recording and reporting and with Access
providing a modern integrated accounting suite we believe
that we now have the "best of breed" in both solutions.
