A note from the
Editor
Welcome to the October issue of the Coretime newsletter.
As we go to press, Coretime is delighted to announce
that it was named as one of the 50 fastest growing Irish
technology companies in Deloitte's fourth annual ranking
of Ireland's most successful technology Companies. This
prestigious recognition comes as Coretime continues
to see excellent growth in sales in both Ireland and
the UK. It's always nice to win awards, and for the
employees of Coretime to gain some recognition for their
hard work and commitment over the last couple of years.
Hopefully, more awards will come our way as we continue
to develop new markets both here and overseas.
This months issue provides details of a number of worthwhile
new features that have been added to both Tempus Pro
for Windows and Tempus Pro Online (Web) systems. We
also have details of two special offers which are open
to existing customers for the month of September.

two time entries for the one body of time, all because
lunch time intervenes? |

Ability to edit invoice address
while in the Invoice Dialog screen. |

Within System Setup,
users can now define the company wide lunch hour.
Any time entries made that cross over this predefined
period, will automatically create 2 separate time
entries. E.g If we are entering a 7.5 hour day,
users can now enter 0900 to 1730 and the system
will automatically create 2 entries 0900 to 1300
(4 hours) and 1400 to 1730(3.5 hours). |

WIP Journals |

Users when adding
a WIP journal to the WIP ledger can incorporate
a note describing the reason for the journal. |

Holiday Reporting |

Catering for those clients who
do not monitor holidays taken based on the calendar
year,the Holiday/Activity report for employees can
now be created for the 12 month period from the
user input date. |

Employee Summary |

The Employee Summary
Screen (without the Pie Chart) can now be printed
from within the screen using the print icon provided. |

Journals/Carried Fwds |

Printing the above report, users

WIP Review Screen |
| |
The review of WIP has
been simplified in that the WIP Review screen (tab)
merely summarises WIP between Unbilled Time/Expenses,
Interim Fees, and WIP, which is consistent with
the way that the Windows product reports on WIP.
In addition, the Financial Summary tab has been
updated so as to show a complete summary analysis
of WIP movement for the life of the project. |

Outlay |

It is now possible
to edit and to delete Project Outlays from within
the Project Review screen (WIP screen). |
|
Reporting Changes |

The main reports supporting the
WIP Control Account now default to reporting on
ALL clients, not ACTIVE clients as per previous
builds. |

Debtor Allocations |
| |
Within the Debtors
Review screen (tab), it is now possible to unallocate
a transaction or unallocate the entire project where
errors in payment allocations are made. |

Debtor Statements |

You can now print a Debtor Statement
from within the Debtors Screen for the Customer
Ledger currently being reviewed. |

Staff Planner |

Staff Planner now has
an option to show all employees on its review screen
or just those with planned activities. |

Listings report, the hours column has been replaced
by "worked hours" and "planned hours". This enables
the user to be able to compare the "planned hours"
against the Actual hours worked. |

Within system setup,
users can allow/disallow overlapping of planned
activities. |

Write offs |

It is now possible
to create a negative write off allowing customers
the necessary flexibility to tidy individual projects
where such a transaction is required. |

Tip of the Month - Tempus Pro
Online!
Did you know that some of our standard reports allow
you to sort the contents of the report simply by clicking
the column that you wish to sort the data by: Expenses
& Outlay, Fee Income and Expenses (Employee).
When running reports with multiple filters, when the
report processing has been completed, by clicking on
the report header will show all of the detail of the
report header being printed. Reports include Aged WIP,
Client Review, Business Summary and Aged Debtors.

Tip of the Month - Tempus Pro
Training courses were held in Cork and Dublin earlier
in October. Attendances were good, particularly in Dublin
where demand exceeded the available seats. It is our
intention to run similar courses again in February 2004.
If you are interested in attending, it is no harm putting
your name down at this early stage. As regards content,
we will tailor the courses to meet with customer demand.

What is ASP?
ASP stands for Application Service Provider or Active
Server Pages. An Application Service Provider offers
access to Applications (such as Software) and related
services on a rental basis via the Internet.
ASP services are an important alternative to purchasing
software for all sizes of business, not only for the
small organisations with limited IT budgets, but also
for the larger firms who wish to outsource some of their
IT requirements. Some of the principal advantages of
taking the ASP route include
Cost:
The cost of renting a system is usually considerably
less than purchasing, installing, implementing, managing
and supporting a similar system purchased for installation
inhouse.
Speed to Implementation:
With ASP services being bundled with full implementation
and support services, customers can typically be up
and running with an ASP service far faster than if they
were to implement a new system inhouse. Utilising the
expertise of the ASP provider, there is less risk of
customers having to deal with poorly or partially implemented
systems.
Additional benefits:
A remotely hosted system means remotely hosted data
with an additional layer of data backup. Data hosted
in the customers own offices do not provide the same
disaster recovery options as a specialised data hosting
centre will provide. These hosting facilities also use
the latest firewalls and up-to-date anti-virus software
and remove, or at least alleviate, this headache from
the customer.
Maketimepay:
Coretime is now marketing its new ASP Solution through
Maketimepay.com. This service effectively provides Tempus
Pro Online as a web based service for a monthly fee
based on the number of active users in the system, all
at a fraction of the cost of purchasing Tempus Pro Online
outright.
With high speed internet access now available almost
countrywide, subscribing to an ASP service such as ours
is now a real option. With our ASP service, there is
no need to invest in expensive hardware or purchase
Tempus Pro Online. You simply pay a flat, all inclusive
monthly fee. This fee has no hidden costs - we organise
data backups, ensure servers running efficiently and
we even provide user support, all as part of the standard
service

For the months of November and December, we will waive
the initial setup fee for any existing customer who
chooses to switch from their existing copy of Tempus
Pro to the ASP service. And for any new ASP customers
signing up with 10 or more users, we will supply the
first two users FREE of charge. I.e. if you are a 10-user
site, you only pay for 8 users a monthly saving of 20%
ongoing.
