In working closely with our customers and as an organisation ourselves we are seeing an increase in the interest in tracking carbon footprint. Speaking to our customers there are some noticeable reasons for this:

1. There is a growing awareness of the impact of greenhouse gas emissions on the environment and climate change. As a result, there is greater emphasis on reducing carbon emissions, and tracking the carbon footprint is a key step in identifying where the emissions are coming from and where they can be reduced.
2. Tracking carbon footprint can be good for business. When looking for new businesses to work with clients may choose to support those organisations that are being environmentally conscious and tracking their carbon footprint. Some governments and regulatory bodies are requiring companies to report on their carbon emissions, with financial implications in not doing so.
3. Tracking carbon footprint can help businesses identify areas that they can improve efficiency and reduce costs. Can we reduce our vehicle miles by using Teams instead? Even better, what if we could increase our proportion of electric vehicle miles vs diesel?

Here at Coretime we’re doing our little bit to help. We’ve added CO2 tracking functions into the Expenses area of Coretime. So, you can now capture more information against Expense items like what vehicle-type is being used or what type of fuel was used on a flight. This can then be collated and reported on to assist you with your aspiration to be a Carbon Neutral company.

Expense CO2 tracking is included as part of Coretime V5.3 at no extra cost.
